What is succinate?

Succinate is a molecule that is part of the normal processes of our cells, such as energy production. We could say it is a natural ingredient in the cellular “engine” that helps us function properly.

When an imbalance occurs and succinate accumulates in excess, it can act as an alarm signal in the body, activating the immune system and contributing to inflammation. This imbalance has been observed in inflammatory diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

At SUCCIPRO, we work to restore normal succinate levels exactly where the imbalance occurs, without affecting the rest of the body. Our approach focuses on reducing inflammation in a targeted, selective, and highly efficient manner, with the goal of improving the health and quality of life of patients living with IBD.
